HerShape

HerShape is a women's fitness and nutrition app we built and shipped to Google Play. The app is React Native (Expo, TypeScript) with a FastAPI backend; the hard part was the AI. Generating a personalised week of meals and workouts with GPT-4o takes too long for a normal request, so plan generation runs on a Celery + Redis queue with auto-retry and exponential backoff — the app fires the job, gets an instant response, and polls for the finished plan, so it never times out and scales by simply adding workers. Users get coached, form-by-form workouts and macro-aware meal plans tailored to their goals.
